In this course we’ll be looking at aspects of safety which particularly have to do with BDSM activities and relationships. This is an important area because much of BDSM includes risks which aren’t often present in other aspects of our lives. Many of these can be hard to recognise or understand, and dealing with them can present unique challenges.
Firstly, we’ll start by looking at the basic ideas of safety, well-being and risk. We’ll then follow up with a look at these in the areas of personal safety, medical or physiological well-being, psychological well-being and emotional well-being. Many examples will be provided, along with analyses and strategies for minimising any risks and maximising safety and well-being.
